I saw an Asian quilt similar to mine above when viewing a quilting exhibition. It was on display at one of the trade stands. I couldn't take my eyes off it and they also sold the fabrics for it as well.
Quilting is the process of sewing two or more layers of fabric together to make a thicker padded material, usually to create a quilt or quilted garment. Typically, quilting is done with three layers: the top fabric or quilt top, batting or insulating material and backing material, but many different styles are adopted. The process of quilting uses a needle and thread to join two or more layers of material to make a quilt.
In this region of diverse people, cultures, and landscapes, the act of sewing pieces of fabric together can be both sacred and commonplace. Central Asian people have long utilized talismans to guard against illness and malevolent spirits, and these protective objects have often taken the form of fabric amulets—including patchwork and quilts. And much like in other parts of the world, these colorful and meaningful textiles help celebrate and mark both momentous and mundane occasions in family and community life.
I am so honored to be included on this wonderful post of inspiring Japanese photos. Beautifully done! Thank you!

She loves to travel. I've never been to her house, but she tells me that she has Buddhas, candles and other Asian inspired motifs in her home. She's also told me that her favorite colors are pink, purple, blue and green. I'm trying to come up with some design that incorporates all of these elements and I'm not sure which way to go with it.
