American actress and model Jayne Mansfieldknown for her publicity stunts, attended a dinner at the exclusive Beverly Hills Romanoff's restaurant hosted by Paramount Pictures to officially welcome Italian actress Sophia Loren to Hollywood. A photograph of the two women, with Loren casting a sideways glance at Mansfield's cleavage, was distributed world-wide and became an international sensation. Loren had achieved considerable success in Europe as an actress.

Within a few weeks of each other, two friends of mine in the Bay Area independently received a text with the same unsolicited photo of a woman's bra-clad, but otherwise exposed, cleavage sent from an area code in central Pennsylvania last month. Both of them, curious as to the provenance of the boobs, replied and asked who was texting them. It was clear some scam was afoot.

Husband and wife Kym and Tonya Illman, from Perth, Australia, have taken on the task of photographing more than women to celebrate boobs in all their wonder. Content warning: Shockingly enough, this article does include photos of naked breasts and nipples. The project, called Celebration of the Breast, features women from 18 to 88 years from all around the world, showing their breasts without any airbrushing.
